When I was growing up, one thing we did not have was any kind of Thanksgiving Eve tradition, other than maybe Mom doing the dinner prep or Dad running out to keep the alcohol stocked.
The same has held true for myself as an adult. In college, Thanksgiving Eve was the evening I went to my parents for the weekend, to stock up on good food and party with my old high school friends for a while. But other than that short time, I can't think of anything I did routinely on that evening that seems anything close to a tradition.
So I guess I wonder what I've missed out on, when I read about the New York City Thanksgiving Eve Party Tradition, or the Thanksgiving Eve Pie Party tradition, or just going out for Chinese food every Thanksgiving Eve. Apparently there are a lot of routines for that evening for people.
